Art. 7 – The Chamber of Research and Graduate Studies – CPPG has a normative and advisory function, in the formulation and improvement of Research and Graduate Policies and deliberative, in the operationalization of activities within the scope of Research and Graduate Education, having the following composition:
- The Pro-Rector of Research and Graduate Studies, as its President, with a common and casting vote;
- The Coordinator of Graduate Studies of the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, as its Vice-President;
- The Research Coordinator of the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies;
- The Coordinator of Institutional Projects of the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies;
- All Coordinators of Stricto sensu Graduate Programs;
- 1 (one) representative leader of a research group from each of the major areas of knowledge of CNPQ, elected by their peers;
- 1 (one) representative of the graduate student body, elected by their peers.
Paragraph 1. The term of office of the President, the Vice-President, the Research Coordinator, the Coordinator of Institutional Projects and the Coordinators of Graduate Programs will be that of their permanence in their respective position.
Paragraph 2. The term of office of the other members shall be one (1) year, with one reappointment permitted.
Article 8 – It is incumbent upon the Research and Graduate Chamber
- To prepare, adopt and amend its own Rules of Procedure;
- Approve:
- The Guidelines and Policies for Research and Graduate Education;
- The complementary rules in matters of Research and Graduate Education;
- The specific rules for granting scholarships for Research and Scientific and Technological Initiation Programs, observing the criteria of the funding agencies and in accordance with the relevant legislation and with superior guidelines and policies;
- Regulation of Stricto sensu Graduate Programs;
- The annual report of the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies.
- To resolve on:
- Proposals for the creation, aggregation, dismemberment, incorporation or merger and extinction of Lato sensu and Stricto sensu Graduate courses and programs;
- Request for accreditation and re-accreditation of advisor professors without a link to UEA;
- Annual reports of the postgraduate courses developed at the Institution.
- To give an opinion on:
- The pertinence of agreements, contracts, partnerships or any other instrument that may be signed with UEA, referring to Research actions and Graduate Education;
- Deliberate on the University’s Institutional and Course Evaluations, proposing actions to solve and/or minimize weaknesses and reinforce strengths in its area of activity;
- Deliberate or issue an opinion on the processes assigned to it by the President of the University Council;
- To deliberate at the level of appeal on matters of an academic and disciplinary nature, related to Research and Graduate courses;
